In collaboration with the Director, Aviation Safety, the Aviation Safety Officer is responsible for conducting safety investigations related to airport operations, analyzing reported events and ensuring accurate documentation within the Safety and Quality Management System (QSMS), in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Actively support and promote the Quality and Safety Policy within the assigned functional area.
- Master and apply the QSMS Policies and Procedures Manual, including processes related to the specialty area.
- Receive, analyze and document safety reports in the safety database, including investigations, risk assessments, root cause analysis and follow-up actions.
- Ensure timely follow-up with employees who reported safety events, including sharing analysis results and corrective measures.
- Maintain effective communication between the Aviation Safety department and airport operations teams.
- Prepare and distribute safety awareness and information bulletins to employees within the functional area.
- Actively participate in Aviation Safety department meetings and the monthly Safety and Quality Management Committee (QSMC).
- Provide support to the Director, Aviation Safety, as required.
