Are you our new Security Manager?
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Security Manager to support the safe, secure, and compliant operation of our airline across all destinations.
The Security Department is responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Aviation Security and Facilitation policies and regulations throughout the airline’s operations.
The Security Manager is responsible for building, managing, and developing the aviation security section within the Security & Emergency Response department. This role ensures that all of Norwegians operations are compliant with relevant national and international security regulations. The manager will establish and lead a new team of security specialists, creating a robust sub-department to oversee designated aspects of aviation security.

In this role you will be responsible for:
Team and Department Leadership
- Recruiting, building, and developing a new sub‑department of security specialists
- Defining team structure, roles, and responsibilities
- Leading and managing the team, including performance reviews and professional development
- Managing departmental resources, including budgeting and financial oversight
Background Checks and Vetting
- Acting as the designated Bakgrunnssjekkansvarlig for Norwegian operations
- Administering and overseeing the background check system (PXM)
- Processing and approving background check applications in line with regulatory requirements
- Serving as system superuser, including training and user support
Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensuring compliance with AOC Security Program, Norwegian and Swedish regulations, EU requirements, and ICAO Annex 17
- Maintaining and updating security policies, procedures, and documentation
- Acting as primary liaison with Luftfartstilsynet and Transportstyrelsen on background check and trustworthiness matters
- Supporting the security quality control program, including audits and inspections
ID Cards, Access Control, and Operations
- Overseeing Union Crew Identification Card (UCIC) processes
- Acting as a designated approver for ID card issuance
- Managing access control systems and personnel vetting
- Serving as subject matter expert on facilitation in line with ICAO Annex 9
- Managing INAD cases and coordinating DEPA/DEPU matters with authorities
- Developing and maintaining security procedures across the airline network, including coordination with border authorities
You are our ideal candidate if you have:
- At least 5 years of experience within aviation security, law enforcement, military or a related field.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Security Management, Law, Political Science, Aviation, Law enforcement)
- Proven leadership experience with personnel and budgetary responsibility.
- Solid knowledge of relevant national and international security regulations.
- Experience working with civil aviation authorities or other governmental bodies is highly desirable.
- Must be able to obtain and hold Norwegian/Swedish background check.
