Must be able to attend 4 weeks of Flight Attendant Initial training in Vancouver. What you bring to our teamA true customer service ambassador whos passionate about peopleAn understanding of the significance of safely performing on time, and bring a proven track record for punctuality and reliabilityRespect safety and security of our guests and fellow crewmembersAbility to be away from home for extended periods - including holidays and weekends, day or night with flexibility to manage a busy schedule You accept the reality that Flight Attendants operate on a shift-like schedule that includes early mornings, evenings weekends and holidays that may include long shifts up to14 hours per day and overnights keeping you away from home regularly You agree to this challenging role takes place onboard an aircraft and can be physically, emotionally demanding and highly stressful Thrive in an ever changing and sometimes unpredictable environmentA resourceful and solutions-based problem solverIndependent and confident working as a solo Flight Attendants You are a multi tasker and are comfortable working in a fast paced and time sensitive environment with a positive attitudeEndorse our diversity, equity and inclusion for all colleagues Pacific Coastal AirlinesAn eagerness to self-improve under constructive feedback Job DescriptionAttend daily pre-flight safety briefingsEnsure the safety, security and comfort of all guests Ensure all safety, security and emergency equipment is quality checked prior to departure and monitored during the flightExplain safety procedures, demonstrate the use of emergency equipment, direct passengers in event of emergencyComplete onboard announcementsProvide onboard service of snacks and beverages, and ensure that all necessary supplies are on boardAdminister first aid to passengers as requiredSubmit reports on the cabin condition, as well as on any medical situations or events that may have occurred during the flightHonor and contribute to Pacific Coastal Safety culture and safety reportingFollow and enforce standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with Pacific Coastal Airlines and regulatory requirementsOther duties as assigned by Cabin Safety Leadership QualificationsCustomer Service experience (minimum 2 years)Possession of Canadian Passport or proof of citizenship Possession of valid Birth Certificate Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identity Card prior to end of Initial training program without delay Excellent English language written and oral communication skillsBe equipped for the physical demands of the positionComfortable working onboard single Flight Attendant aircraft and small cabin environmentMust be a minimum height of 52 and maximum height of 5’11”in order to complete all standards requiredMust work independently without supervisionMust be 21 years or olderMust complete an intensive initial training, practical evacuation drills and emergency drills including first aid and live firefighting successfullyCapable of lifting up to 50 pounds unassistedCapable of working long hours for extended periods of timeAble to travel away from home, with schedule changes and on call duty days Skills, Knowledge & AbilitiesStrong leadership & professional imageDiplomacy and friendlinessAbility to actively listen, empathize, ask questionsAbility to remain calm under pressure and act decisively when dealing with stressful situationsAbility to manage conflicting priorities in a timely and professional manner Note: Priority is given to applicants who have had previous Flight Attendant experience and/or training.
