Are you our new Accountant?
The Accountant role is a pivotal position within our finance team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of accounts payable processes. The level of the position will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Based in Riga, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the business by driving process improvements, enhancing operational efficiency, and leading automation initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions, contributing to the company’s overall success. In this role you will be responsible for:
- Execute daily accounting operations within agreed deadlines
- Manage international VAT accounting, ensure accurate calculations and timely VAT filings
- Prepare and submit regulatory, statistical and tax reports to relevant authorities, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Prepare financial statements in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring full compliance with reporting standards
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain clean, accurate balance sheet by monitoring key accounts and resolving discrepancies
- Participate in month-end activities, including journal postings, reconciliations and reporting
- Generate various reports and statements as required by management and stakeholders (including auditors)
- Provide support and back-up to other team members
- Follow the changes in local tax and other regulations
- Participate in improvement projects, actively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives and resolve accounting issues
You are our ideal candidate if you have/ are:
- Academic degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in general accounting, tax reporting, or shared services, preferably in an international company
- Good accounting, VAT and other tax knowledge
- Experience working with SAP or similar ERP system; participating in process or system improvement projects would be an advantage
- Strong MS Excel understanding, experience with Power BI is a plus
- Business and solution oriented with a supportive mindset and intense sense of ethics
- Accurate, efficient, and meets deadlines
- Strong communication skills along with ability being a great team player
- Process oriented analytical mindset
- Fluent in English, written and verbal
